Animal Crossing Dolphin Improve Performance

Country: Hey all, I've been on the verge of falling for a Shield TV for about two years now and with the latest 5.0-10XXX updates to Dolphin that seem to really improve performance (at least in some games) I'm curious as to how it runs now. In particular, if anyone has tried The Simpsons: Hit and Run, TimeSplitters, New Super Mario Bros. Animal Crossing: New Leaf Realme 6 Pro. There’s a new build that just got released by the developer of Dolphin MMJ, and it runs a whole lot better than before.

If you look at the Dolphin forums, the Surface Pro 2 & 3 are generally accepted to be great by the users of them, but heat seems to be their main issue. For those who don't know, mGBA is the most renowned and accurate GBA emulator of this era and has been rapidly improving since its inception. Recently, we wrote about mGBA adding support for our TCP GBA. Emulation is NOT the same thing as regular PC Gaming, particularly with Dolphin.

Windows Vista SP2 and unix-like systems other than Linux are not officially supported but might work. OS: 64-bit edition of Windows (7 SP1 or higher), Linux, or macOS (10.12 Sierra or higher). Generally, these are the minimum recommended requirements for Dolphin. Every game has different requirements, some titles may require a powerful computer while some other titles may not. Dolphin prefers quad-cores over dual-cores, VBA prefers faster over slower, ePSXe prefers. Not only that, but Intel Integrated HD 44 runs Dolphin very, very well, and the 2160x1440 resolution will make for some gorgeous gameplay.Like I said - this is Emulation which is completely different than standard PC Gaming. The Surface Pro 2 & 3 should both run Dolphin and PCSX2 fairly well as long as you get the i5 or i7 models. It won't be as good as a desktop with optimized hardware, but you'll get steady speeds and a good video. The only problem you might run into is heat issues.

A graphics card that supports Direct3D 11 / OpenGL 4.4 / Vulkan 1.1 is recommended.Dolphin is shipped with default settings for the most optimal performance, you do not usually need to change anything on your first time Dolphin setup.Provides a significant speedup on modern systems. Graphics: A reasonably modern graphics card (Direct3D 10.0 / OpenGL 3.0). A modern CPU (3 GHz and Dual Core, not older than 2008) is highly recommended.

Cubeb is the faster backend. See DSP LLE for more details. It is very reliable, and only a few titles still have problems with it. There are a few titles that work better with different emulator engines but unplayably slow.DSP HLE is the fastest DSP Emulator Engine. Refer to this page for a list of titles that require disabling Dual Core.JIT Recompiler is the fastest engine and is recommended on almost all titles.

Exclusive Fullscreen is available on Windows, it gives Dolphin full control over the graphics card. Use Fullscreen toggles between fullscreen and windowed mode. OpenGL should be avoided on AMD and Intel GPUs on Windows due to poorly optimized drivers. Direct3D 11 is a good fallback option for stability or compatibility reasons. Depending on the game and the graphics card: Vulkan will generally provide the best performance for Nvidia and AMD, while Direct3D 12 is preferred on Intel.

Hybrid Ubershaders is the recommended setting for most GPUs as it reduces shader compilation stutter with minimal performance impact. Specialized (Default) should be used as a fallback for older systems or GPUs that do not work well with ubershaders such as some mobile GPUs. Exclusive fullscreen is enabled by default when it is supported, it can be disabled by checking the Borderless Fullscreen checkbox under Graphics > Advanced > Misc. Support on OpenGL is more of a hack. D3D and Vulkan are well supported for Exclusive Fullscreen. More details on its benefits can be found on Progress Report of July 2014.

Start with minimum option like "1x Native (640x528)", and go up from there until you can find the highest setting without slowdown. Compile Shaders Before Starting can reduce in game shader compilation stutter once a cache is built in exchange for longer game startup times. The emulation can suffer slowdowns from extreme multiplier options in Internal Resolution, Anisotropic Filtering, and Anti-Aliasing settings. Skip Drawing is NOT recommended as it causes rendering issues in many games.

It's off by default for greater emulation accuracy. However it provides this boost at the expense of emulation accuracy, breaking some titles and removing effects. Skip EFB Access from CPU - Provides a speed boost.
